Celebrating Reed City’s Newest Landmark: Celebration Park Named 2025 Community Development Project of the Year
Reed City Celebration Park has been named the 2025 Community Development Project of the Year by the Middle Michigan Development Corporation. Gerber Construction Co. is proud to have served as general contractor on Reed City’s first official downtown park.
Reed City has a new reason to celebrate — and so do we.
At this year’s Middle Michigan Development Corporation Annual Meeting, Reed City Celebration Park was officially named the 2025 Community Development Project of the Year, a brand-new award recognizing projects that strengthen local quality of life, support economic vitality, and create lasting public value. As the general contractor on this transformative effort, Gerber Construction Co. is honored to have helped bring Reed City’s first official downtown park to life.
A project built for community
Celebration Park isn’t just a new public space — it’s a statement about what’s possible when local partners share a vision for a more vibrant, welcoming downtown. Designed to serve residents, visitors, and local businesses alike, the park provides a flexible gathering space for events, recreation, and community connection.
From its walkable layout to its lighting, seating, and open-air design, the park was built to be a place where Reed City can come together.
For Osceola County, projects like this do more than beautify a block. They support local events, encourage foot traffic, strengthen small businesses, and contribute to the overall quality of life that helps communities thrive.
A partnership that made it possible
Gerber Construction is proud to stand alongside the partners recognized through this award:
- The City of Reed City — for leading the vision and championing a more connected, community-centered downtown
- Crossroads Recreation Connection — for advancing recreation and public space initiatives that bring people together
- Fleis & VandenBrink — for engineering expertise and design leadership
- Gerber Construction Co. — for turning plans into a built environment the community can enjoy for decades
This project was also made possible through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s RAP grant program, which provided critical funding to help Reed City invest in its future.
Why this project matters to us
For more than 65 years, Gerber Construction has built projects across Michigan — but the ones closest to home always mean the most. Reed City isn’t just a place we work. It’s where our families live, where our kids grow up, and where we’ve built relationships across generations.
Helping create the city’s first official downtown park is the kind of work that reminds us why we do what we do. It’s construction that becomes community.
Celebrate with us
