Gravel Train Driver CDL-A Required
Local hauling only — home every night. Consistent work, local routes, and a company that's been running equipment across Michigan since 1958. If you're a professional CDL-A driver who wants steady miles close to home and a crew that respects the work — let's talk.
Apply NowAbout This Role
This is a full-time CDL-A driving position operating a gravel train — tandem axle truck with pup trailer — hauling aggregate materials including sand, gravel, stone, and fill to construction sites and customers throughout NW and North Central Michigan.
You'll run primarily daytime local routes with consistent work through the construction season. We operate a professional fleet and expect professional drivers. You'll be home every night.
What You'll Do
- Operate a gravel train hauling sand, gravel, stone, and fill material to job sites and customer locations
- Load and unload safely, including operating end-dump and side-dump configurations
- Complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT requirements
- Maintain accurate trip logs, delivery tickets, and required DOT documentation
- Coordinate with dispatch and job site supervisors on delivery timing and site access
- Follow all traffic laws, posted weight limits, and load securement regulations
- Keep your truck clean, fueled, and flagged for any maintenance needs promptly
What We're Looking For
- Valid CDL-A license — required
- Current DOT medical card
- Clean MVR — no serious violations in the past 3 years
- Experience pulling a pup trailer or operating a gravel train preferred
- Comfortable working on and around active construction sites — tight conditions, real deadlines
- Able to operate end-dump and side-dump equipment
- Self-managed and reliable — dispatchers give you the schedule, you own the execution
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
